Vessel Management

Overview

This section explains how Vessel Management supports the basic operation.

Supported Operations

The following operations are supported by Vessel Management:

Vessel Create

This section describes how to create a vessel visit and specifies the basic transaction details, such as the vessel assigned to the vessel visit, the estimated arrival and departure schedules of the vessel, and the operators involved in the vessel visit.
The users can either create a Vessel record through Vessel Management and associate it with the vessel visit or can on-the-go create it during Visit Registration.

Steps

To create a Vessel:

  1. A vessel serves as the profile of the physical vessel that contains information about its maritime identifications (call sign, IMO number, Lead Shipping Agent), all mandatory fields will be marked with the Red Asterisk sign “*”.

  2. The users has two action icons at the bottom of the Registration page:

    1. Reset: Clicking on Reset, the system will auto-clear all the data filled in by the user.

    2. Save: On clicking on Save, the system will notify the user with a banner and exit from the current screen, and take the user to the search Vessel Search screen where the recently registered Vessel will be available.

  3. Once a user creates a vessel, the same can be used to associate a vessel visit. To know more about vessel visits, see Vessel Visit Create.

  4. Users can create a vessel by navigating through one of these steps:

    1. On the Home page, go to Manage >> Operations and select Voyage Maintenance.
      Users can then Click on Vessel Register from the left navbar.

    2. A vessel can also be registered while creating a Vessel Visit on-the-go, Refer to Vessel Visit Create.

Site/ Wharf

A site/Wharf code, where the user logged in to register a Vessel.

Vessel Name*

The registered name of the physical vessel.

Supported characters: letters, numbers, and spaces.

The maximum number of supported characters is 24.

IMO#*

The unique maritime identification code of the physical vessel is based on the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

The standard format for IMO numbers is unique seven-digit numbers: 1234567.

Flag

The country where the physical vessel is registered. Also known as the flag state.

To enter the country, type the name of the country or the two-letter code of the country based on the ISO 3166-1 alpha 2 code standard.

Call Sign*

The unique maritime identification code of the physical vessel is assigned by an authorized registration body in its flag state.

Supported characters: letters, numbers, and spaces. The maximum number of supported characters: 9.

Vessel Code

To identify the vessel with a unique identification code

Lead Shipping Agent

The field is to select the leading shipping agent that belongs to the vessel.


Vessel Amendment

The Vessel Information accordion of the page shows the information of the created vessel.

Steps

To amend a vessel:

  1. On the Home page, go to Manage > Operations and select Voyage Maintenance.

  2. On the left navigation menu that appears, click Vessel Search icon.

     

  3. The user can click on the vessel that needs amendment, based on the Vessel Search provided.

     

  4. The user has two options to edit the vessel details:

    1. Click edit icon from the search page.

    2. Or from the Manage Vessel page, click the edit button to amend the vessel details.

       

    3. Click SAVE.

    4. Apart from IMO, Lead shipping Line and Site users can change all other information on the Vessel.

       

    5. On clicking Visit Reference No. hyperlink, the system directs the user to view the Maritime Visit.

       

    6. On clicking View Linked Past Visits hyperlink, system directs the user to view the past Maritime Visits linked with the selected vessel.

       

    7. Click Audit in left navigation bar, which allows user to view the audit details/log for the selected vessel.

Vessel Cancellation

This section describes how the user can cancel a vessel record.

Steps

To cancel a vessel:

  1. Go to Manage >Operations and select Voyage Maintenance.

     

  2. On the left navigation menu that appears, click Vessel Search icon.

     

  3. Click the vessel that needs cancellation.

     

  4. Click CANCEL VESSEL.

     

  5. In the Cancel Vessel window, enter notes if required, and then click YES.
    Note: To cancel the operation, click NO.

     

  6. The status of the vessel updates to VESSEL CANCELLED.

 

Vessel Search

This section describes how the user can search a vessel record.

Steps

To search for a vessel:

  1. Go to Manage >Operations and select Voyage Maintenance.

     

  2. On the left navigation menu that appears, click Vessel Search icon.
    By default the system displays search result without any filtering conditions.

     

  3. In the Vessel Search section, to pull out the details of a particular container, enter the Vessel Name, and then click on the search icon as highlighted in the image below.

     

  4. The list of search results for which the user is authorized is displayed, user can click on the row to view the details.

     

  5. To search with a new vessel name or to clear all the additional filter criteria entered by user, click on the Reset icon.

     

  6. Click the drop-down icon to view the additional filter parameters to search.
