Tariff Creation

Overview

This section helps the user to initiate the process of creating a tariff. The admin can create plans for prepaid and postpaid customers. Below are the plan creation steps for post-paid customers.

Please note, that we are covering only Postpaid customers as part of this guide.

Validations

  • Create Event Tariff :

    • The tariff method must match the event category of the events that are added.

  • Edit Event Tariff:

    • The tariff is editable until it is not used in any Plan (Active or Deactivated)

  • Once a Tariff is de-activated, it will not be available to create new Plans, but existing Plans and subscriptions would not be impacted.

Steps

To create tariff for Postpaid customers:

  1. Go to Configure> Subscription> Tariff Management.

  2. Go to Tariff Creation in the left navigation bar.

  3. The system navigates the user to the Create Tariff page.

     

  4. In the Create Tariff section, enter the in the fields and click SUBMIT.

    1. Tariff Type: Click the drop-down icon and select the type.

    2. Payment Type: Click on the drop-down icon and select the payment type. This field allows the admin to define different prices for Prepaid and Postpaid customers of the same event.

      Note: Once the user selects the Payment Type, new fields appear on the screen, such as: Billing Rule, Event Type, Currency, VAT Code, and Memo Line Code. Also, a new section called Fixed Slab appears on the screen.

    3. Location: To select the location, click on the icon as depicted in the image.
      By selecting the location, we are trying to define which location this particular tariff is applicable.

      1. Select Country: In the Select Location pop-up window, click the drop-down icon to select the country.

      2. Select Location: Click the drop-down icon and select the location.
        Note: The user can select once or multiple location.

      3. Select Providers: Click the drop-down icon and select the provider.
        Note: The user can select once or multiple providers.

         

      4. Click APPLY.

    4. Tariff Name: Assign a unique name to the tariff to identify it.

    5. Billing Rule: Click the drop-down icon and select one of the following:

      1. Flat: If the user selects Flat rate, then every transaction is charged at the same price.

      2. Variable: If the user selects Variable rate, then the user can have multiple slabs defined to it.

         

    6. Event: To select the event, click on the icon as depicted in the image.
      Note: In the backend, already certain events are defined. Here, the user picks up an event and is giving a price for it.

      1. Search for an event by entering an Event Name and then clicking on the search icon, or

      2. Select any one Event Name from the Search Results list and click DONE.

    7. Event Type: Click on the drop-down icon and select one of the following:

       

      1. Event Based: Every time when the user does any transactional event this particular tariff is used. So the transactional events are defined at Event Bases.

      2. Time Based: It is something that has to be applied periodically to the bill, just like a licensing fee that is deducted automatically. Licensing fees events are defined at Time Based.
        Note: if the user selects Time based as Event Type, then new fields appear on the screen, such as:

        1. Frequency Value: The user can define how frequent they want to apply the particular event. For example: if the user wants to apply particular event per month, then they must enter the value One in the Frequency Value field.

        2. Frequency Type: Click the drop-down icon and select the type. For example: If the user has defined One per month in the Frequency Value field, then they must select Month(s) in the Frequence Type field.

    8. Activation Date: Click on the calendar icon and select the activation date.

    9. Currency: Click the drop-down icon and select the currency.

    10. VAT Code: Click the drop-down icon and select the code. This field represents the VAT associated with the particular event.

    11. Fusion Code: It is an open field. It is nothing but a norm code, these are standard values.

  5. In the Fixed Slab section, set the Upper Slab and enter the Cost per Transaction.

  • By default, the system takes the Upper Slab of “99999”.

  • If the user is willing to add more slabs, then they have to reduce the Upper Slab Value, only than the plus image-20240410-075001.png icon is enabled.

  • Slabbing here means, for example: as depicted in the image:

    • From the first to 99 transaction the user is bound to be charged at 12 GBP.

    • From 100th to 999th transaction the user is bound to be charges at 11 GBP.

  • If the user selects the value Flat in the Billing Rule field, then the Upper slab Field is un-editable.

    • The user can define only one price.

    • Irrespective of whatever transaction count the user has in a month, they will always be charged one defined price.

  1. Click SUBMIT.

  2. The Create Tariff Confirmation window appears on the screen. click YES.

  3. The system navigates the user to the Tariff Search page.
    A success message appears on the screen and the new created Tariff is listed with Status as REGISTERED.

  1. The user can modify and edit the details of the tariff, by clicking the REGISTERED tariff.

  2. Click EDIT.

  3. Make the necessary amendments and click SAVE.
    Note: The user can edit only few selected fields.

  4. Click YES.

  5. To Audit the tariff, click the Registered tariff and go to Audit.

  6. This section helps the user to have a detailed audit of the Tariff. The user can view all the Tariff related edits and audits captured here along with the status.
