Overview
This service allows the system to announce the service and critical notifications to the users directly in the portal, messages for various terminals and selected audience, so as to help them engaging with the system more efficiently and effectively.
Scope

Announcements Landing Page
Create a service announcement
Click on Create Announcement button.
Fill up the form for creating a new announcement. Follow the guidelines for the fields below.
Click on the respective radio buttons to time the announcement to appear immediately, or schedule it for later.
Select from the dropdown the terminal(s) for which the announcement needs to be created.
Select from the dropdown if it is a Service, or a Critical announcement.
Service announcement is a general announcement which terminal/internal admin wants to publish to the target users and it doesn't needs any acknowledgement from the users.
Critical announcements are the announcements which are created by terminal/internal admin for the target users to publish the critical information to the users and it needs acknowledgement from the users.
Select the expiry date and time for the announcement.
Expiry date & time is not mandatory for immediate critical announcements but it is mandatory for immediate service announcements.
Select the target audience groups who should be able to see the announcement.
Enter a title for the announcement, in 40 words or less.
Finally enter the announcement in the text box.
Use the toolbar to undo or redo typing, choose Bold, Italics, or underlined, or sriked-out text styles. The font style and size cannot be changed, but you can use a preferred text colour. Links and tags can be used too.
Click on the publish button at the end of the page after providing all the details.
The new announcement created will appear in the Service announcements home page, with status as Active, as is shown in the image below.
The title of the announcement will appear on the Service Announcements section of the Mawani homepage, for the targeted audience. The user must click on the title to view the full announcement, as shown here.
Critical announcements popup will be loaded, once target users login to the system. Below is the sample for the critical announcement popup:
If user creates a schedule announcement then all details has to be filled up in the same way only difference will be user has to provide the mandatory notification effective data & time and expiry date & time to create the notification.
Effetcive/Expiry date & time is mandatory for schedule critical/service announcements.
Search announcements
Terminal admins and Internal admins can search and view announcements. To search for an announcement, user has to enter the desired search criteria and click on Search button.
The search criteria are as follows:

Effective from - Effective To | User has to provide the scheduled (or immediate) date for publication of the announcement, and the expiry date respectively. |
Announcement Type | User has to select the announcement type - Service or Critical. |
Status | User has to select the announcement status. More on the status is described below. |
Terminal | User has to select the terminal for which the announcement is targeted. |
View an announcement
On the Announcements home page once user search the announcements, results will be loaded in the results table as shown below. User has to click on the Announcement Title to see the details.
The details will load in a new page, as illustrated below.
Delete an announcement
To delete an announcement, click on the bin symbol located on the right to each announcement record.
Lifecycle of an announcement
When an announcement is created, if it is scheduled for immediate display, its status is Active.
A announcement which is scheduled for later, has the status as Scheduled.
An announcement is Expired, after it passes it’s expiry date.
Service vs Critical announcement
A service announcement appears in the Service Announcements section in the Mawani home page.
A critical announcement appears as a notification once user logins to the system.

Business Validations
Terminal and Internal admins can only create/delete any service announcements or critical notifications.
For immediate critical announcements expiry date & time is not mandatory.
For immediate service announcements expiry date & time is mandatory..
For schedule critical/service announcements expiry date & time is mandatory.
Target users should get the service announcements in the service announcement section of the home page.
Target users should get the critical notification popup once they logins to the system and should appear until users acknowledges the notification.
Once user acknowledges the critical notification it should appear again.
End users should only be able to view the announcements and should not be able to modify/edit the announcements.
